The Mera Peak Trek

Hi All,
After months of fairly sporadic training I am finally in the Himalayas hauling my considerable bulk up to the Mera Peak.
As you may remember myself and loads of other CVD staff made a commitment to raise funds through sponsored events. I will be trekking, hiking and a bit of climbing in the Himalayas for 3 weeks culminating in the ascent of Mera Peak.
Even though the peak is 23,000 feet high we will be making the journey without oxygen by acclimatising with a series of higher and higher climbs on the approach to summit day.
To all of you who have donated either to me personally or via the website, thank you very much.
I know that many of you have been collecting with friends and family on my behalf using sponsor sheets (see attached) and it would be great if you could gather any donations and ideally put them on the website please at www.justgiving.com/ob.
The training for this event has been a labour of love. Apart from getting fitter and a bit thinner I also have realised how much I love the scenery of Scotland, even though most of it was seen through fog, mist, sleet and rain.
Please remember that, above all, the reason for doing this is to raise funds for the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust. Every pound you donation ABSOLUTELY WILL contribute to saving a life.
